Napoli consider Osimhen options as Premier League interest fades – Football Italia

Napoli may have to re-evaluate their options for talisman Victor Osimhen as no clubs have yet made an approach for the Nigerian despite their hopes of selling him this summer.

Reports throughout the 2023-24 season suggest Napoli are prepared to cash in on Osimhen this summer, despite him topping the club’s goalscoring charts over the past two seasons, including the Serie A title-winning 2022-23 campaign.

Back in December, the 25-year-old signed a new contract with Napoli until the summer of 2026, which also included a release clause believed to be worth €120 million to €130 million.

Osimhen has no quotes yet

Napoli have been eyeing offers from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, no formal contacts have been made yet.

This could be a long-term issue for Napoli and new head coach Antonio Conte, who may rely on the sale of Osimhen to bring in a number of other transfer targets this summer, including a possible move for Chelsea-owned striker Romelu · Lukaku.

The fact that Osimhen is currently earning around €10 million per season in his new deal is not particularly feasible for Napoli either, especially if they intend to rebuild under Conte this summer.

Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis is reportedly waiting for feedback from sporting director Giovanni Manna and Osimhen’s agent before considering his next move, but Gazzetta dello Sport said Napoli may have to consider lowering their asking price if they want to seal a deal this summer.
