Tottenham Hotspur boss Angie Postkoglu believes defender Mickey van de Veen “hasn’t missed a beat” since joining from Wolfsburg last summer.

Van de Veen joined Tottenham for £43 million (now $53.6 million) and became Postkoglu’s first-choice centre-back partner alongside Cristian Romero – both men having recovered by then.

Van de Ven scored the winning goal yesterday to help Tottenham reverse a 2-1 home victory over Burnley and consolidate their fifth place in the Premier League.

“Mitch’s goal was good, both goals were very good,” Postkoglu said. “Mickey spent a year in the Bundesliga and now he’s in the Premier League and hasn’t missed a beat.

“He has grown as a person, as a player and even with the injury problems he has just come back. Today, credit goes to him… he and Couti (Romero) especially during this difficult period Stand up and hope to make an impact.
