Arsenal have a busy summer ahead, with Mikel Arteta looking to strengthen his squad ahead of next season as the club aim to challenge for a third successive title. However, sporting director Edu Gaspar is faced with the reality that the squad needs to be streamlined before bigger additions can be made.
Despite doubts over depth, the club have effectively reached a stage where up to 11 players from their senior squad could be moved on come summer to make room for those within their squad. Arsenal have already been eliminated from multiple cup competitions early and having players capable of providing competitive depth to the established starting line-ups will be a priority.
However, how players leave is still a problem. At the end of the 2023 summer window, Arsenal found that many people had not found the right way to leave. Some people simply left on loan and may play for another year. Nuno Tavares and albert sambi lokonga Perhaps it is these two players who, while the latter’s stellar performance at Luton Town may have boosted the Gunners’ chances, the same cannot be said for the Portuguese full-back.
Kieran Tierney Joining Real Sociedad this season, Arsenal are hoping to secure a lucrative transfer fee for the Scotland international with time remaining on his contract. The left-back remains one of the most competitive and well-stocked areas of the team, making a redemption arc for Tierney all but impossible.
Players who have transferred to existing squads and three Hale End graduates could see their time at the club come to an end.The two people most expected to leave are Aidien Ketia and Rice Nelson They’ve signed new contracts in recent years, but their potential game time hasn’t changed much, and in fact, in Nketiah’s case, it’s arguably been reduced even further.
Emile Smith Rowe The third is also one who will see supporters divided over whether he should be sold. He has shown signs of starting quality, but injuries and confusion over his best role in the current squad mean the club may indeed be open to serious offers for the England international.

Gabriel Jesus To the surprise of some, he is one of the other players the club is willing to sell. Just four league goals this season simply aren’t enough to show Arteta why he is irreplaceable, and with many forwards talking about selling the Brazilian to reinvest in a new centre-forward it would make sense.
The same goes for his former Manchester City team-mates Alexander Zinchenko. Doubts were raised over Zinchenko’s tenure at the club when the Ukrainian said in an interview that he believed 2023 signing Yurien Timber could be better than him despite being much younger. Time may indeed be shorter than many expect, with only two years left.
Thomas Partey He has just one year left on his Arsenal contract and has been linked with an exit. With Jorginho looking likely to stay for the foreseeable and with a midfielder signing imminent, the oft-injured Ghanaian may consider a move to Saudi Arabia a good career move End transfer.
Fabio Vieira Due to competition and injuries, he has never been able to find his way into the first team. The Portuguese midfielder signed for £34m from FC Porto but failed to convince fans of his ability and so it was no surprise that he left in the summer.
Finally Aaron Ramsdale His playing time is completely limited due to the loan of David Raya. Raya is likely to join permanently in the summer, so leaving the club appears to be the only way forward if the England goalkeeper wants to get more game time.
