What needs to happen next for Jurgen Klopp in Liverpool’s final three games

Liverpool of the Klopp era have just three games remaining at Anfield. Going into this weekend, the Reds must win all their remaining games if they are to win the title, Arsenal need to lose and draw, and Manchester City need to lose twice. The Gunners and Citizens both had superior goal difference, but a 2-2 draw with West Ham further sealed their fate.

As it’s been a tough week with just four points from three away games, there are only three games left. Klopp was at Anfield with two of them. All of that is in the Premier League, but the chances of the Reds sending him off remain slim.

Next up is Liverpool, with a much longer turnaround this time, and Tottenham coming to Anfield next Sunday. Klopp hates the short distance between games but he needs his squad to adjust to more than a week’s preparation time.

Liverpool next face Tottenham Hotspur, then Spurs and Wolves at Anfield, before traveling to Aston Villa in between to end the season against Unai Emery’s side at Villa Park. All of these installations can be tricky for different reasons.

The title is gone but the Reds need some results to avoid Klopp’s tenure disappearing with a whimper. Manchester City currently lead the Premier League title race (relative to the number of games played) and face Nottingham Forest (away) tomorrow.

With games still remaining, with four games remaining after two games, Guardiola’s side will next face Wolves (home), Fulham (away), Tottenham Hotspur (away) and West Ham United (home). Apart from the Champions League, there are only league and FA Cup finals left.
