Mauricio Pochettino claims Chelsea ‘are not Cole Palmer’s Football Club’… but statistics show they would be in the relegation zone without him

Shocking statistic shows Chelsea would be in the relegation zone without Cole Palmer.

The 21-year-old has been a bright spot for the Blues in what has been a dismal season for the club.

Palmer has scored 20 Premier League goals and is expected to win the Golden Boot.

He has also provided nine assists, meaning he has been responsible for 47.5% of Chelsea’s league goals so far.

In comparison, Nicolas Jackson scored 10 goals, Raheem Sterling scored 6 goals, Michelo Mudric scored 4 goals and Noni Maduk scored 3 goals.

England star Palmer missed the match against title challengers Arsenal due to illness, while manager Mauricio Pochettino called on other stars to step up.

Before the game, the manager said: “It’s a good challenge. I’ll be very motivated to go there and show that this is Chelsea Football Club, not Cole Palmer Football Club.”

But perhaps the accusations from “Palmer Football Club” are true, because the chaotic Blues were beaten 5-0 by the Gunners.

Pochettino accused his players of “giving up” and a young supporter held a sign that read: “I don’t want your shirt. I want you to fight for our interests.”

Chelsea also set an unpopular record, conceding 57 goals in the league this season.

Without Palmer’s goals and assists, Chelsea will be in danger of being relegated

This is the most investment the club has made in a season since Prem was founded in 1992/93.

Judging from Palmer’s starting data, Chelsea achieved 10 wins, 6 draws and 11 losses.

Guardiola reveals why he sold Chelsea star Cole Palmer during a stunning year that saw him top the Premier League goalscoring charts

In eight games without him, they won three, drew two and lost three.

The former Manchester City wonderkid contributed to 32.8% of Chelsea’s goals.

He added 13 points for the west Londoners – only Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins rescued their teams with big goals more often.

With Palmer’s acumen and creativity in the back of the net, Chelsea average 2.2 goals per game when he is on the pitch.

But when he doesn’t play, that number drops significantly to 1.3.

The winning rate also plummeted from 45.5% to 37.5%.

Points per game also took a hit without its star, dropping from 1.57 to an impressive 1.38.

If Palmer’s 29 goal contributions are excluded, Chelsea will be 20 points behind the team and in the relegation zone.

They sit in 18th place in the table with just 27 points – ahead of only Burnley and Sheffield United.

The only improvement without Palmer is that Pochettino’s side concede just 1.1 goals per 90 minutes, compared to 1.9 when he comes on.

Chelsea are ninth in the real table – three points behind Manchester United and Newcastle in the race for European places.

But they face an uphill battle to qualify and a horrific run-in towards the end of the season.

Their opponents are Aston Villa (away), Tottenham Hotspur (home), West Ham United (home), Nottingham Forest (away), Brighton (away) and Bournemouth (home) .
