Barnes also believes Liverpool “could strengthen” their defensive midfield, while they “could improve” their defense this summer.

“I also think defense is an area where Liverpool can improve. Virgil Van Dijk is unbelievable but he’s not getting any younger.

“Mitip may leave and Cusa is one of the future, so Liverpool may need to strengthen their defence.”
