Premier League Prediction: Chris Sutton vs Jericho Ridge star Zach Morris

Sutton's prediction

Liverpool have won just two of their past 11 Premier League games at Goodison Park, but can they beat neighbors Everton when they return there on Wednesday?

“Everton got three points on Sunday which takes the pressure off them,” BBC Sports football expert Chris Sutton said. “Now they are absolutely desperate to stop Liverpool’s title bid.”

Sutton is making predictions for every Premier League game this season against a variety of guests.

In games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, he will face Actor Zach Morris, star of new thriller Jericho Ridge.

Jericho Ridge will be released in UK cinemas from April 25th and available for digital download from April 29th.

Zach Morris at Jericho Ridge
Zack Morris played Keegan Baker on “EastEnders” for five years and also starred in the Disney series “Goosebumps.” Jericho Ridge was his first film role.

Morris is a Manchester United fan and has followed Manchester United since he was a child.

“I’m 25 now, so growing up it was a prime time to be a Manchester United fan,” he told BBC Sport.

“It was the era of Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs. I had just come into football properly and started to take it all in, and Manchester United was a team of superstars. Team.

“That was my team and my heroes were Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand. By the way, what a great player Rio is and I hope we can get him back now. “

United have just reached the FA Cup final for the second consecutive year but have not won the Premier League since Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down as manager in 2013 and appear unlikely to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Morris added: “What’s missing now compared to those days under Ferguson is the excitement factor and the ability to create miracles.”

“That talent, that feeling that anything can happen is gone, and so is our consistency compared to the top teams.

“It’s not because any one player needs to improve because we already have enough quality in the squad – everyone needs to do better as a team.”

Chris Sutton and Zach Morris are interviewed by BBC Sport’s Chris Bevin.

Arsenal vs Chelsea

Arsenal 5-0 Chelsea

Arsenal bounced back from a bad week against Wolves on Saturday to win comfortably, but Chelsea also performed well despite losing to Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals.

This feels like a very dangerous game for the Gunners and the rivalry between the two clubs will also be an important factor.

Chelsea should probably beat them at Stamford Bridge in October But in the end, the two-goal lead slipped away.

They’ve made progress under Mauricio Pochettino, but they still have a habit of shooting themselves in the foot like they did that day.

So I’m backing Arsenal to find a way to win this – even though it will be very close again.

Sutton’s prediction: 2-1

Zack’s prediction: I have some family and friends who are Arsenal fans so I will annoy them and say Chelsea will win. 1-2

Wednesday, April 24

Wolves v Bournemouth

Wolves v Bournemouth(19:45)

It’s an important game for Wolves boss Gary O’Neill, who will once again be desperate to beat the team that sacked him in the summer.

wolves won When they met on the south coast in October, Bournemouth had yet to move on under new manager Andoni Iraola and were still waiting for their first league win.

Wolves are in poor form this time around and have not won a single game in five league games since being knocked out of the FA Cup by Coventry City.

The Cherries are also winless in three games but they’ve still been pretty solid and I can see them getting something here – this game has a draw written all over it.

Sutton’s prediction: 1-1

Zack’s prediction: It’s going to be a tight game but I’ll give that to Bournemouth. 0-2

Crystal Palace v Newcastle

Crystal Palace v Newcastle

Crystal Palace will be excited after beating West Ham United on Sunday.

Eberechi Eze and Michael Ollis shined again up front alongside Jean-Philippe Mateta, with the two defenders’ return to form adding to the team’s potential for new Eagles coach Oliver Glasner Significant in terms of offensive threat.

Newcastle have also found some form of late but I expect Crystal Palace to beat it. They look completely safe from relegation now, so they have some freedom, but Eze and Olise will make the difference.

Sutton’s prediction: 2-1

Zack’s prediction: I’m picking Newcastle here simply because I saw Alexander Isak destroy Tottenham in the last game. I mentioned talent before and he has it in abundance. 1-2

Everton v Liverpool

Everton v Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp made a number of changes for Sunday’s win over Fulham, including leaving Mohamed Salah out, but they still won comfortably.

I could see this game going the same way. Everton will certainly give everything they have, but both of their goals against Nottingham Forest came from outside the penalty area and they are not a team that creates too many chances.

Liverpool are stronger and they should have many chances. If they catch them, they win.

This is the second of three consecutive away games for Klopp’s side, who also face West Ham United at the weekend. This looks like a tricky game at a critical stage of the season, but at the moment they look capable of getting through it.

Sutton’s prediction: 1-2

Zack’s prediction: Well, my dad and my brother are both Liverpool fans so we have a bit of a rivalry there. I do think Liverpool will walk away with this. 0-3

Manchester United v Sheffield United

Manchester United v Sheffield United

I will predict Manchester United to win here.

One guy was very abusive to me on X, so I promised him that after I backed Coventry to beat Manchester United in the FA Cup, I would pick Manchester United’s win for the rest of the season.

I was almost right about Coventry too – as manager Mark Robins said after their defeat, I was just one step away from being right.

More than anything, it was United’s collapse after taking a 3-0 lead on Sunday that they were worried about, but they eventually advanced.

I don’t think this is a particularly good game for Erik ten Hag’s side to face next, against a team at the bottom of the table with nothing to lose.

United’s players may not appreciate another easy win, as they did against Coventry, but even they should be able to beat Sheffield United – of course.

Sutton’s prediction: 2-0

Zack’s prediction: Oh, come on, we’re going to win this game! 4-0

Thursday, April 24

Brighton vs Manchester City

Brighton v Manchester City (19:45)

Obviously City are very tired but I looked at their bench in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final and it wasn’t bad for such a tired team.

Brighton were very awkward opponents for Manchester City last season, but I’m not so sure they will provide the same test this year.

Despite this, Guardiola’s side still made no mistakes. They currently have the upper hand in the title race, but even a draw completely changes the situation at the top of the table, so the pressure is on.

Sutton’s prediction: 0-2

Zack’s prediction: The city is going to be okay, isn’t it? They don’t just give up, but they still get the job done. 1-3

Zach on title game: As a Manchester United fan, I don’t have much to see, do I? I’m full in every way! But while I joked before that Arsenal would lose just to annoy my teammates, I actually really wanted them to win the title, if it had to be one of those three. They are also underdogs as Liverpool have won far more recently than them, not just Manchester City. It’s strange to think about Arsenal like this because they are a big club but before last year they hadn’t been close to the title in a long time. So, I like the fact that they’re running and I hope they’ll take it – even if I’m not 100% convinced they’ll do it.

How did Sutton perform last time?

Sutton had five correct results in seven Premier League games in Week 34 but no exact points, giving him 50 points.

His guest, singer-songwriter Sam Tompkins, got three correct results, but again no exact score, for a total of 30 points.

For now, Sutton are victorious but full results will be confirmed as the remaining games progress.

Sam also correctly predicted two FA Cup semi-finals, while Sutton incorrectly backed Coventry to follow Manchester City into the final, but these games do not count in the table below.
